Description
Each year beginning in 1987, the Seedtime on the Cumberland festival has drawn traditional artists from across the southern mountains to Appalshop, a media arts and cultural center in Whitesburg, Kentucky. Some of the performers are national known; others have rarely appeared outside their home communities. Besides music, Seedtime features film, theater, crafts, literature, and food. The festival has made a concious effort to present the remarkable diversity of Appalachian culture.
